DIGITAL SHOWS

DERBYSHIRE IN DIGITAL

After working in digital for the last 6 years I now have my very first digital lecture all about my home county of Derbyshire, from landscapes to steam trains, battles, nature, sport and aircraft.

ICELAND

In 2016 I did a 10 day trip to Iceland travelling about 2000 miles through amazing scenery, from lava fields, glaciers, icebergs, waterfalls and the amazing Northern Lights.

PRESERVED STEAM 2016

Steam trains in the UK in an action packed year including the return of 'Flying Scotsman'!

DERBYSHIRE IN DIGITAL 2

My photography from 2016 to 2022 with landscapes, steam trains, aircraft, nature and sport all taken in my home county of Derbyshire.

STEAM IN THE WILD WEST

A trip to the USA in 2018 visiting Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico and to the Monument Valley on the edge of Arizona and Utah. I visit 3 steam railways with the highlight being Cumbres & Toltec Railroad which is 64 miles long crossing Colorado to New Mexico climbing to 10,000 ft on the Continental Divide.

SLIDE SHOWS

THE GREAT OUTDOORS

This is my main area of work with a variety of subjects from landscapes, steam trains, battle re enactments, historic aircraft and a bit of wildlife. The lecture travels from the Peak District to the East Coast, Yporkshire Dales and Scotland, finishing in the USA National Parks in Utah, Arches National Park and Canyonlands.

FOUR SEASONS OF DERBYSHIRE

This lecture shows the diverse landscape of Derbyshire at its best through each of the seasons in the dales, dramatic moors and the beautiful villages. They are seen in deep snow, the flowers of spring and the hot days of summer, then the year ending with the spectacular colours of autumn.

FOUR SEASONS OF DERBYSHIRE 2

More familiar places around Derbyshire as well as some not so well known. The show explores areas in the southern end of the county and Robert's first visit onto Kinder Scout. There are more stunning weather conditions which show off each season at its best and how the landscape changes through the months.

OUR WONDERFUL WORLD

This lecture depicts one of Robert's favourite subjects - landscapes. A variety of places are shown from some of his early images in North Wales to the Peak District, Scotland and finishing across in the USA in Utah and Arizona.
The show looks at Robert's 3 favourite subjects in the landscape and also his 3 favourite locations he has been to on his travels.

LAND OF THE FIERY DRAGON

This show features 3 trips Robert made to China in 1999 and 2000 to photograph some of the world's last working steam trains in dramatic settings and weather conditions, sometimes down to -30c windchill. As well as the steam trains Robert also photographed the amazing culture of China and its people including well known landmarks such as the Great Wall and Beijing.

THE MAGIC OF MULL

In 2005 Robert spent 4 months living and working on the Isle of Mull. At the same time he was also able to photograph the island at its best from tranquil Lochs to golden beaches. Spectacular sunsets and sunrises with pictures taken from 4am to 10.30pm. Mull's neighbours also feature, such as Ulva, Staffa, Treshnish Isle and Iona.

PICTURES WITH ALTITUDE

In 2005 Robert did his biggest ever challenge by treking to Everest Base Camp. In 12 days Robert walked 85 miles and climbed to over 17,000 ft to get the best view of the top of the world! As well as photographing the dramatic Himalayas, Robert also photographed the amazing Sherpa people and where they lived as well as spending a few days in the very colourful city of Kathmandu.

CUBA - MY PHOTOGRAPHY PARADISE

Cuba is a country in a time warp. It is just like going back to the early 1960's, with the architecture, cars and old steam trains at the sugar mills. A way of life that is changing fast, the lecture focuses on the sugar mills as well as its people and there is also a look round Old Havana and Trinidad, which is a world heritage site.
